Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has successfully launched and placed the country’s first military satellite into the orbit.

The elite force fired the satellite — dubbed Nour (Light)-1 — aboard Qased (Carrier) satellite carrier during an operation that was staged in Dasht-e Kavir, Iran’s sprawling central desert, on Wednesday, the Corps’ Sepah News reported.

The satellite was placed into the orbit 425 kilometers above Earth’s surface.

Leader congratulates IRGC on founding anniversary

The announcement was made on the day when the elite military force is marking the anniversary of its establishment on April 22, 1979 upon an order by the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini.

Marking the occasion, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei expressed his gratitude towards the IRGC for its performance.

IRGC General Mohammad Shirazi, the head of the Leader’s Military Office, relayed the congratulatory message of the commander-in-chief of the Iranian Armed Forces to Major General Hossein Salami, the IRGC’s chief commander.

“Convey my regards to the IRGC personnel and their respectable families on the occasion of its founding anniversary,” the message noted. “I extend gratitude to them for their good performance and efforts. My prayers are with them.”

US social news aggregation website Reddit shuts down ‘The Donald,’ a pro-Trump subreddit as video live streaming service Twitch temporarily suspends US President Donald Trump.

“All communities on Reddit must abide by our content policy in good faith. We banned r/The_Donald because it has not done so, despite every opportunity,” Reddit CEO Steve Huffman said in a post on the site on Monday.

Amazon’s Twitch, meanwhile, cited his “hateful conduct” for the suspension.

“In line with our policies, President Trump’s channel has been issued a temporary suspension from Twitch for comments made on stream, and the offending content has been removed,” a Twitch spokesperson told TechCrunch. “Like anyone else, politicians on Twitch must adhere to our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. We do not make exceptions for political or newsworthy content, and will take action on content reported to us that violates our rules.”

Twitch suspends Trump

At a recent rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Trump made comments about immigration of “hombres” from Mexico into the country, which was cited as one of the two instances of hate by Twitch.

“Hey, it’s 1:00 o’clock in the morning and a very tough, I’ve used the word on occasion, hombre, a very tough hombre is breaking into the window of a young woman whose husband is away as a traveling salesman or whatever he may do. And you call 911 and they say, “I’m sorry, this number’s no longer working.” By the way, you have many cases like that, many, many, many. Whether it’s a young woman, an old woman, a young man or an old man and you’re sleeping,” said the Republican president.

The latest development comes a day after Trump had to delete a tweet because it promoted white power.

Russia begins building first strategic stealth bomber: Report

first strategic stealth bomber
An artistic illustration of what Russia’s first strategic stealth bomber might look like.

Russia has begun manufacturing a prototype of its first strategic stealth heavy bomber, which is expected to be completed next year, a report says.

When operational, the new aircraft will be capable of carrying a wide range of advanced missiles and bombs, including hypersonic weapons, reported Russia’s TASS ass news agency on Tuesday, citing two unnamed sources from the state-run United Aircraft Corporation as saying.

According to the report, the military-industrial complex is overseeing the project of building the new bomber, known as the PAK DA, which will compete with the US Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit, which entered service in 1997.

The TASS report added that the material had been shipped for the project and that work had begun on the cockpit of the heavy bomber.

“The final assembly of the entire machine should be complete in 2021,” one of the sources told TASS.

Other reports indicated that the PAK DA would feature a flying wing design similar to American stealth bombers.

Russia has already developed its own stealth warplane, known as Sukhoi Su-57, which is a single-seat, twin-engine, multirole, fifth-generation jet fighter. It first flew in 2010 but has yet to be manufactured in large numbers.

Meanwhile, China is also developing its own long-range subsonic stealth bomber, known as the Xian H-20, which reportedly might make its first public appearance at an air show in November.

Elon Musk is playing chicken with officials in Cali … restarting production at a Tesla factory in open defiance of an official order … daring authorities to handcuff him.

Here’s the deal … the Tesla honcho reopened his factory in Fremont, CA Monday despite Alameda County officials ordering the plant to remain shuttered due to coronavirus restrictions.

Elon seems ready and willing to buck the law … he says he’s willing to be arrested for his act of defiance.

But, law enforcement sources tell TMZ … authorities are NOT planning to arrest Elon or anyone else working at the plant. We’re told cops are aware of Elon’s announcement and are currently working on a plan forward.

Musk just tweeted to his 33 million followers, “Tesla is restarting production today against Alameda County rules. I will be on the line with everyone else. If anyone is arrested, I ask that it only be me.”

As you know … Elon’s beefing with Alameda County over orders to keep the plant closed, and he’s already threatened to move the factory to Nevada or Texas and sued the county.
